Isaiah 50

Read Isaiah 50...then backtrack and read the previous servant songs (42, 49) ending through 50 a second time.

Servant Song V

Jesus as a servant compared to Israel as a servant

Today- rather than an outline a few questions to try and answer and carry with you as you go along this week.

Is it hard to not jump the gun and read these passages as "eyes that have already seen?"Are you able to pause and learn and glean from what scripture has to say about the coming Messiah?

Do you ever see yourself, or your heart as that of Israel? Or do we often lump ourselves as more like Jesus? It is so easy to point at them and think they have everything, tangible miracles, acts of God...and yet remain unfaithful....yet we have the risen Savior and can so often struggle even moreso. Is Jesus the crown jewel of your life? Is knowing God the ultimate pinnacle of your life? Why or why not?

John Snyder talked about falling in sin.... or constantly living in the state of sin. One...when convicted of our sin, plagued by our failures in this...indicates actually a walk with the Lord, we are aware of our sinful nature against a Holy God. The other...constant sin without a need to repent-should give pause to ask....do I know this Christ.... or just say I do? Lack of conviction should be more of a fearful state than that of a never repenting heart.

The video ends with a beautiful and gracious reminder: " Even in the hardest moments of obedience, the most sacrificial requirements, the most scary moments where you have to risk everything to follow Christ look in the path in front of you, there are His feet prints. He did not openly rebel and he did not gently sidestep the cross; and neither can we. To follow Christ, we trust the Father, we don't rebel, we don't side step and God will be honored.
